Youth Confirmation

Image result for youth confirmation

the Presbyterian church practices infant baptism as a sacrament, as it is a gift of grace from God to all. As children reach middle-school age, they are invited to participate in a discipleship process called Confirmation, where they learn some of the basic principles of Christian faith, particularly under Presbyterian theology. At the end of this discipleship course, the children are given the opportunity to confirm their baptism through a public statement of faith in Jesus Christ. If any of the children participating in Confirmation have not been baptized, they will also have the opportunity to be baptized during the process.
This year, our Confirmation class will be a 6-week course, to be held on Sunday afternoons at 2:00pm, beginning August 19th, plus an overnight retreat on Friday, September 28th. Then, on Sunday, September 30th, we will have a Confirmation ceremony during the service at our “Worship At The Park” in Lincoln Park. For clarity, here’s a list of dates and times:
Sunday, August 19th, 2:00pm – Session 1

If you have any other questions, or if you’d like to help lead this course, please feel free to contact me. If you know of any other parents and/or students who may be interested, please feel free to pass this along.
